WELCOME
The Office
of the Vice President for Student Affairs is hosting the 10th
Annual Student Life Conference at the Busch Campus Center
on November 17, 2006. Our theme this year is "Learning
in Communities." The program will include a general session
in the morning, lunch, and breakout panels in the afternoon
followed by a closing session. Although the theme of the conference
focuses on increasing student learning through communities,
all programs that offer ideas on how to improve the quality
of student life are welcome.
The keynote
speaker will be Dr. Lee Williams, Dean of Students at the
University of Connecticut. Dr. Williams is a leading expert
on living and learning communities, residential colleges,
and academic and student affairs partnerships.
This year,
some student affairs professionals are in transition and have
unanswered questions about the scope of their responsibilities
next year. The conference will articulate one of the directions
student affairs and undergraduate education will take next
year to create richer learning experiences for students. Your
participation in this conference is important. Please register
as soon as possible.
If you
have additional questions about the conference, please contact
Meredith Davis-Johnson at medavis@rci.rutgers.edu.
I look
forward to spending time with you at the Student Life Conference
on November 17, 2006.
Sincerely,
Gregory S. Blimling, Ph.D.
Vice President for Student Affairs
